SG3 Racing History:

~The Early Years~
1993-2001

SG3 Racing was formed indirectly many years ago. AJ and Chris met one day while working their respective jobs, and struck up an arguem... umm, "civil discussion" of who's particular favorite driver was better than the others. Chris being a diehard Dale Sr fan and AJ an ever-boastful DW fan, well let's just say that things could have gone a bit smoother I suppose.

Anyway, a few short months later Chris and AJ found themselves face to face once again, only this time working for the same company. They decided quickly that the only way they were to get along was to rib each other on a daily basis about each others driver (heh)... actually they had a mutual friend that is probably the biggest Ricky Rudd fan this side of the Mississippi, and it was much more fun riding his case instead.

And so the partnership began... Greyshoe Racing began on the console versions of many racing games that have since gone by the wayside, from Sega's Ayrton Senna's F1 and Andretti Racing to Bill Elliott's Nascar Challenge and Days of Thunder for the Playstation. Many sleepless nights and broken Playstation and Sega Genesis controllers later, they found themselves able to race online head-to-head, and with other people as crazy, er, I mean, "dedicated" as themselves.

Nascar Racing 3 provided an excellent outlet to showcase their talent, or lack thereof. They teamed up with Chris' older brother Dan, and his cousin Mike and officially changed their name from Greyshoe Racing to SG3 Racing, (1-S and 3 G's, just that simple). They raced together at many pick-up races in the Sierra arenas and a couple leagues here and there, and even started their own short-lived series. Dan and Mike eventually dropped out of racing online due to things going on in their 'real life' world, but AJ and Chris kept racing under the SG3 banner.

~SNOR Days~
July 2001-May 2005

One place in particular they found, to race competitively on a regular basis, with some good aggressive, but clean drivers, was Saturday Night Online Racers, (SNOR). N3 didn't last too much longer when they joined this league, and soon found themselves at the mercy of forever dwindling starting fields. So they decided to take the plunge into NR2k3, still running regularly at SNOR. This is where they eventually met up with, and raced against, Mark and Derek. AJ and Chris were sitting 1st & 2nd respectively in the Retro Division (Aero88 mod) points standings, in what wound up being a shortened season. Once SNOR realized that they could no longer maintain decent sized fields, they closed their doors. Sad day in online racing. SG3 had raced against many a great driver at SNOR, and learned a lot about online racing etiquette, chasing points, keeping your car under you, etc. Just a small list of some of the guys they have to credit for their 'maturing' as racers would be Ryche, F.O.G. Racing (Sean, John, Brian, & Brad), Fire03 (...not you Jack, we named the monkey Jack! lol), the DSR guys (colddraft, Jojo, DUI, etc), WimmerRules & Racefan20. Hope to race you all again soon. Gas On guys!

~High Octane Racing~
July 2005-Present

AJ and Chris found HighOctaneRacing.net (HORL) with the help of one of the guys they ran with at SNOR, and decided to check it out. Instantly they found themselves accepted there, and fit right in with the schedule HORL ran. They put a call out on the SNOR forums for other drivers to join with them at HORL, with only Mark and Derek actually coming on board. The four decided one night after a race, that they would be better served to team up and try to up their level of competition. Mark even came up with the idea that 'SG' in the name could now stand for 'SNOR Guys' ...so we went with it.

~Update~
April 2006

Only couple seasons into their High Octane careers, SG3 Racing had shown their strength and turned a few heads as well. With all four drivers taking at least one win each, as well as a few scattered Pole Positions here and there. Chris and AJ finished 1st & 2nd respectively in their first full campaign in the Bushwhackers Division at High Octane, and Chris snatched his second championship in the Truckers Division two seasons later. We're not done yet...

SG3 Racing is proud to announce the addition of two new drivers to the team.
Curtis Hummer and Charlie Trusty bring a wealth of experience and knowledge, as well as a hard charging attitude. Charlie is the guy that introduced AJ and Chris to High Octane racing when he used to run against them at SNOR. Curtis met up with SG3 while racing them at High Octane, and is always a threat to win in any division he runs and already has a few championships as an independent. Welcome aboard guys! We hope you enjoy the ride!

To date this is the abbreviated version of SG3 Racing's history. To catch the next chapter of their story, check out HighOctaneRacing.net. Because that's where they plan to reside for a while anyway.
